About Us

Our Mission: 
This virtual group is dedicated to educating those interested in the technology and techniques around reducing the risk and impact of system faults and outages of the Microsoft SQL Server platform and the infrastructure underneath the data. SQL Server availability is paramount to any organization, and the knowledge discussed is sure to improve the DBA's ability to  service the organization.

Chapter Management:
David Klee - Group Leader       

David Klee is a Microsoft SQL Server MVP and VMware vExpert with a passion for the convergence of infrastructure and data. David spends his days handling performance, virtualization, and HA/DR architecture of SQL Servers as the Founder of Heraflux Technologies. His areas of expertise are virtualization and performance, datacenter architecture, and risk mitigation through high availability and disaster recovery. David speaks at a number of national and regional technology related events, including the PASS Summit, SQLBits, VMworld, SQL Saturday events, PASS virtual group webinars, and many SQL Server User Groups. 

Ed Leighton-Dick - Co-Group Leader        

Ed Leighton-Dick is a Microsoft MVP, SQL Server performance and architecture specialist, and Founder/Principal Consultant of Kingfisher Technologies. He is a frequent volunteer with PASS, including roles as Regional Mentor, leader of I-380 PASS SQL Server User Group, and organizer of SQL Saturday Iowa City. He can often be found teaching sessions at local, regional, and national events, including user groups, SQL Saturday, and PASS Summit.

Rick Lowe - Co-Group Leader        

Rick Lowe is a Microsoft Certified Master with more than 15 years of experience working with SQL Server. He currently works as an independent performance DBA/Developer for clients across the USA and Canada as the Founder of Data FLowe Solutions. He started his career as a database developer, but over time became more and more interested in how the database engine operated ... eventually becoming more focused on operational and performance issues than code. Rick will work with all things relational, but most enjoys helping smaller companies get better performance from MSSQL, as well as smoothing over relationships between DBA and development teams.

Bob Pusateri - Co-Group Leader       

Bob Pusateri is a Microsoft MVPMicrosoft Certified Master and Friend of Redgate, and has been working with SQL Server and related technologies for over 15 years. His interests involve database internals, performance tuning, systems architecture, and cloud technologies. He is a Database Engineering Lead at SalesforceBob is an organizer of SQL Saturday Chicago, founder of the Chicago SQL Association, and a community speaker at regional, national, and international technology events, including PASS Summit, SQLBits, SQL Saturday events, and local user group meetings.
